Catch-up Time!!!

May 2011-Dec 2011

Almost about killed me...see Nick left for Boot Camp on May 17th. It was the hardest thing I have ever went through in my life. But luckily for me my family came to my rescue. I hung out with my cousins a lot...took up Scrap booking and crafting! We went to Papa's house a lot to eat, hang out with cousins, and swim...but mostly swim! That's pretty much all we did in May!
In June Nicholas and I went up to visit Great Grandpa & Grandma Black and Grandpa, Grandma Barre, Uncle Mike, and Aunt Lizzy. We were there from June 20-July 13, we had a blast with them. We went to the zoo with Aunt Lizzy and got in for free on July 4 because we were Military! At the zoo Nicholas' favorite animal was the tigers. We were there during feeding time and got to watch them tare the big chunks of meat apart. He also loved the Giraffes. He would just laugh when they stuck out there long tongues. Then later that week we went to the Aquarium. We had such a great time. His favorite thing to look at the aquarium was the sting rays...he actually touch them...which I was completely surprised! Also they has a huge boa out for the kids to touch and hold...to my surprise my son being only 14 months old just went up to it and pet that nasty snake. I couldn't bring myself to touch that thing.
We also went to Nickles Park...it was the cutest park I have ever been to. Nicholas loved it because it had a pirate ship. He was a little iffy going across the loose bridge...but finally went for it. It only took him a few minutes for him to figure out that he could basically go crazy at the park. He loves going down the slide and swings. He especially loved it because we were spending time with Grandma Barre and Aunt Lizzy. He loved spending time with them. But most of all he loved going swimming with whole family...Especially Grandpa Barre...here he learned that when grandpa got close to the edge that was his que to jump in the pool!!!!We also got to spend some quality time with Great Grandpa and Grandma...he loves them so much!!! Great Grandpa would give him the hose and turn it so he could have fun in the water. Grandpa's excuse was that the flowers needed watering.
When we got home from Utah it was an exciting time because we only had a week until we got to see daddy graduate from Boot Camp...During the whole time he was at Boot Camp we wrote back and forth almost every day. I probably sent him may 100 letters and about an Email a day. It was hard staying strong being home with my son without his daddy but we made it through just fine. Through the church, praying, and family we made it through the toughest 10 weeks of my life!!! So to fast forward a little bit to the July 26 we left to go see daddy in Fort Jackson, SC. I was so excited I couldn't stop smiling and crying. When we got to South Carolina it was so hot and humid. I walked out of the airport and almost drown when I took a breath. Nicholas and I got to our hotel and went to meet up with some other military wives and girlfriends. That night Nick got his cell phone back and we got our call that night. He also told me that a the ceremony the next day I would have to find him in a group of about 150 men and women dressed exactly same. When the soldier came running out of the woods I thought to myself there is no way I'm going to find my husband but not even ten seconds they got into formation I looked and found him right away...I started crying the moment I laid eyes on him!!! We got to spend the whole day together as a family on the base...not what I expected. By that I mean I couldn't believe all the things that they offered to the families on base!!! The next day was graduation...Nick's parents from Kansas came for it. We went out to lunch with them and headed back to our hotel to spend some quality time with each other. then the next day we headed off our separate ways. Nick went to Fort Eustis, Virginia and Nicholas and I headed back to Arizona.
August and September kinda went by like a blur...but it still hurt because August was our Anniversary and September is my birthday. So October came and so did Daddy for a weekend...we had a great weekend. Just spending time together. He came in on Wednesday night and stayed until Sunday Night. On Thursday we went over to my dads house to surprise my nephew Aidan...then we went to pick up the girls from school...Kaida kinda just fell into uncle nick and Bailee just stood there quiet. I cried like a baby of course. Then Sunday came and nick went back to Fort Eustis.
Then Thanksgiving came and we picked up Daddy at the airport...the best holiday ever except for Christmas....we get to have daddy home for a total of two weeks. We pick up daddy this Sunday...can't wait...we get DADDY from December 18-December 31 at midnight!!!!
