Surprise!!!

On April 16, 2010 Nick and I woke up at 6 a.m. I started to do my usual thing... which started with my fifth or sixth trip to the bathroom to pee...but I was have bad back pains so I thought that i had to have a bowel movement so I went back to the bathroom but nothing happen, sorry I know so gross..So thru the door Nick asked me if I wanted anything to eat and I yelled back, "yeah make me some Eggo's." I went out to the kitchen and my Eggo's popped up from the toaster, and I buttered and drenched them in syrup.. I sat down in my usual spot at the kitchen table, I took three bites of my Eggo's and I thought I was about to pee myself so I stood up to go to the bathroom and my water broke all over the kitchen floor. Luckily nick woke up at 6 a.m. instead of 4 a.m. I called out to Nick that my water had broke and he thought I was kidding so when he came to see he started laughing at me. We didn't know what to do so I started waddling to the bathroom. I sat on the toilet to let it drip, but quickly had to turn around because I was about to get sick. No wonder they tell you not to eat during labor!!! Well we got somethings together for the hospital and then we were on our way. We got to the hospital around 7:15 a.m. and the OB Triage nurse had to make sure my water did break...when she came back into the room she tried to be funny by saying yep you are pregnant!!! Yeah not so funny when you are having strong back contractions every three minutes.. They transferred me to my labor and delivery room where they let me take a shower and relax. Then about an hour passed and I asked for my Epidural at 9 a.m. but they couldn't give me it until about an hour and thirty minutes later because the nurses couldn't get a IV started two nurses tried in both my hands but they couldn't get a vein. Finally a man name Richard came to get the IV and fluids started..he had to numb my are and go fishing for a vein..He got one. About ten minutes later the greatest guy in the world at the time of labor came into the room, the anaesthesiologist gave me the Epidural and I was flying high. Around 4 p.m. the nurse checked me and I was dialted to about a 5 which wasn't dialated enough for my doctor so she started patosen. Then in about 30 minutes later I was dialted to a 7 then in about two hours I was dialated to a 9, then at 7 p.m. I told nick that he needed to get the nurse becasue it was time that I started to push.. So the nurse came in and checked me and sure enough i was dilated to a 10 and the nurse said get ready to push. I started to push at 7 p.m. and had to stop pushing around 7:30 becasue the doctor wasnt there yet. I was stopped for about fifteen minutes while waiting for the doctor. Finally the doctor came into the room...I was so happy..she came over and said okay it's going to take about five pushes to get him out...I told her not this time and in about two and half pushes Nicholas Richard Xidis was introduced to the world at 7:34 p.m. on April 16, 2010.
